Animal Care Specialist

About the Role:
The BC SPCA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our shelter staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shelter environment.
- Provide exceptional care to animals, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medication as needed.
- Assist with animal adoptions, including preparing animals for viewing and providing information to potential adopters.
- Support front office staff with administrative tasks, such as answering phones and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with other shelter personnel to create a positive and harmonious work environment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
- Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and a passion for providing exceptional care to animals.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and the public.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of the BC SPCA Certificate, Part 1 course.
