Animal Welfare Coordinator

About the Role:
The BC SPCA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Animal Care Attendant. As a key member of our shelter team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment for the animals.
- Provide exceptional care and attention to the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medication as needed.
- Assist with the intake and processing of animals, including receiving animals for surrender and facilitating adoption procedures.
- Support the front office team with administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with other shelter personnel to create a positive and harmonious work environment.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
- Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and a sound knowledge of animal behavior and health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in front office routines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
