Animal Care Assistant

About the Role:
The BC SPCA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our shelter staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care and attention to the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medication as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff.
- Assist with front office duties, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and processing adoptions.
- Support the shelter's animal health policy and ensure the animals receive proper care and treatment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with volunteers, staff, and the community to promote the shelter's mission and values.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract.
- Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
