Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team at Team Construction. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Facilities Management: Manage and maintain facilities, including inventory control, purchasing, and contracted maintenance.
  • Help Desk Support: Respond to help desk service events and emergency calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies, and develop sources for stock materials.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Record and adjust readings as needed to ensure equipment operates properly, and maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety policies and legislation for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • CMMS Utilization: Utilize clients' Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for customer service requests and issue resolution.
  • Purchase Order Management: Prepare and submit purchase order requests as necessary, and verify accuracy of deliveries for count and pricing.
  • Tool and Instrument Inventory: Conduct periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory, and monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by external contractors.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest technologies and best practices in facilities management.
Requirements
  • Certification and Experience: Certification of qualification and/or license in related trades, and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and management procedures applicable to preventative maintenance and repair of building facilities, and strong judgment, problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Applications: Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel, and familiarity with CMMS software.
Working Conditions
  • Travel: Significant travel time to various work sites.
  • Physical Effort: Moderate physical effort involved in carrying equipment and performing tasks, occasional lifting of heavier equipment.
  • Work Environment: Work may involve outdoor tasks and exposure to inclement weather, regular activities include walking, standing, climbing, working in tunnels, small or elevated spaces, etc.
Reporting Relationships
  • Supervisor: Reports directly to the Senior Supervisor Engineering and Facilities Operations.
