Health and Safety Manager

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team in Varennes, QC. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and awareness programs to employees and contractors on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and site managers to ensure effective implementation of the HSE program.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and distribute HSE statistical reports to stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Studies.
- 7-10 years of related work experience in the construction industry.
- Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
- Ability to facilitate programs and present to groups.
- Working knowledge of National, Provincial, and Local safety and environmental regulations and programs.
