About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team at Black & McDonald. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients on our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees and contractors on health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site managers to ensure effective implementation of HSE plans and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain HSE statistical reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors and contractors to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and clients to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Valid Quebec Driver's License and ability to travel.
