About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team at Black & McDonald Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to employees and contractors on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site managers to ensure effective implementation of the HSE management system.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans to ensure prompt response to incidents.
  • Prepare and distribute HSE statistical reports to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
