Your Role:
The Contract Administrator will join our Transportation Construction Services group in Collingwood. As a key member of the team, you will manage multiple highway and transportation construction projects, ensuring timely preparation and submission of necessary documentation.
You will apply your strong project management skills to support clients during all phases of the construction process. This exciting opportunity allows you to work on various projects under construction with Crozier and contribute to our clients' success.
Responsibilities:
- Review design packages at key stages to ensure constructability and enforceability.
- Prepare cost estimates for construction and securities, including take-offs and maintaining a costing database.
- Familiarize yourself with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and materials associated with construction.
- Ensure construction contract documents and specifications meet corporate and industry-wide standards and design requirements.
- Manage the tender process, including issuing addenda, bid analysis, and recommendations to clients.
- Carry out contract administration tasks for multiple transportation construction projects.
- Coordinate schedules and manage field employees based on workload and liaison with other offices.
- Lead site review teams, coordinating with Project Managers and Site Reviewers.
- Provide technical support to field staff and respond to inquiries from clients, agencies, and contractors.
- Maintain document control and participate in QA/QC processes.
- Act as a review body and second signature on payment certificates and field documentation.
- Review employee field notes and reports for accuracy.
- Chair pre-construction and progress site meetings.
- Negotiate construction change orders and claims.
- Conduct site reviews to ensure conformance with construction contracts and client requirements.
- Prepare security reductions and final project close-out documentation.
- Emphasize safety and maintain a healthy and safe workplace.
- Establish positive working relations with the project delivery team.
Your Qualifications:
- C.E.T. certification with OACETT or P.Eng. designation with PEO considered an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in transportation construction industry.
- Sound knowledge of design standards, specifications, and materials associated with construction, as well as environmental and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Previous experience with Builterra, MS Office, and other related industry-standard tools necessary to carry out construction administration and site review work.
- Established working relationship with various municipalities.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
- Occasional overnight travel may be necessary for project-related activities.
