Job Summary:

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a highly skilled Material Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining our tooling and equipment inventory levels, sourcing non-stock requirements, and managing the calibration and certification of tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using CribMaster software
  • Work closely with production teams to forecast requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with vendors to source high-quality materials and tools
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security clearance requirements

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent in a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in material control operations and methods
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing and trade tools
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
