Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of Material Planning, Systems & Control, the selected candidate will join a project team dedicated to managing and resolving all material-related challenges for their assigned project. This will involve direct collaboration with various departments including stores, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team to assess and prioritize material supply needs, closely monitoring demands that could impact project timelines.
  • Engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders regarding material requirements.
  • Work alongside different material departments to ensure timely material support and delivery.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the project.
  • Coordinate with vendors to guarantee the supply of chemicals to operational areas.
  • Lead and organize inventory assessments across various facilities.
  • Communicate significant project activities and requirements to the Material teams.
  • Maintain effective communication with domestic and international clients and representatives, including military supply personnel.
  • Keep the department updated on progress and resource-related issues.
  • Report material performance metrics to the project team.
  • Document and implement 'Material Lessons Learned' from each project.
  • Investigate root causes of recurring supply issues and recommend corrective measures.
  • Monitor and report on subcontractor activities.
  • Provide insights on interpreting raw data related to material demand.
  • Organize and participate in regular meetings with relevant staff to expedite material availability.
  • Understand and adhere to all material operations procedures and suggest improvements where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management or logistics, ideally within the aerospace industry.
  • A college diploma in business-related studies or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, Peoplesoft).
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS/DRMIS) is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Understanding of the aerospace supply landscape and its challenges.
  • Knowledge of ISO and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Awareness of International Traffic and Arms Regulation (ITAR) is a plus.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
