MATERIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Irving Shipbuilding is a leading Canadian shipbuilder, proud to be Canada's National Shipbuilder. We are seeking a highly skilled Material Management Specialist to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Role:

  • Maintain tooling and consumable inventory levels, ensuring the right tools are available at the right time for the right cost.
  • Manage inventory management systems and reports, utilizing CribMaster software to track and report on inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with Production to forecast requirements and maintain process and workflow for tool-related activities.
  • Participate in business improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve tooling and equipment processes, and propose process improvements.
  • Research and develop new tools and consumables, focusing on safety, increased durability, and efficiency.
  • Act as a key liaison, building and maintaining relationships with vendors and ISI departments, and interacting with key stakeholders such as Production.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Material Control Operations and Methods, with knowledge of industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with trade tools and consumables used in an industrial manufacturing or shipbuilding environment.
