Job Title: Harvest Room Server

Join our team as a Server at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, where you will be an ambassador for exceptional service and cuisine. As a Server, you will provide warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding Food & Beverage offerings to make guests feel unique and valued.

Responsibilities:
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests.
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Assist guests with menu items in an informative and helpful way, highlighting our signature dishes and promotions.
  • Project a pleasant and positive professional image to guests at all times, ensuring a memorable experience.
  • Sell and up-sell menu and beverage items in a positive, professional manner, exceeding guest expectations.
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods to provide expert recommendations.
  • Deliver and present food items to guest tables with precision and flair, ensuring a visually appealing experience.
  • Process guest checks in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bus and re-set tables to maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere.
  • Perform opening, cleaning, and closing duties to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Report any irregularities or comments from guests to supervisors and leadership, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Take initiative to rectify guest recoveries as per brand standards, exceeding guest expectations.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Adhere to the hotel's vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles.
Requirements:
  • 1 year a-la-carte serving experience required in the last 5 years.
  • Pro Serve certification required.
  • Previous point of sale system experience an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
