Learning and Development Expert

Calgary Co-op is seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and delivering training and organizational development programs that support employee and leadership development, succession planning, and talent management.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement people development programs and initiatives to support employee and leadership development, succession planning, and talent management programs.
- Develop online courses, workshops, presentations, reference guides, and other learning materials that meet the needs of our employees and leadership team.
- Conduct learning need assessments, identify gaps, and present recommendations to improve our training programs.
- Facilitate meetings, deliver online and in-person learning programs related to organizational needs, and provide consultative and advisory support to the business in learning and development programs.
- Research and apply a variety of learning technologies and methodologies to address development needs and evaluate learning solutions, including in-house and third-party training programs.
- Provide leadership in the areas of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), including participating in HSE activities, ensuring employees are knowledgeable about and comply with HSE policies, procedures, and legislation, and assisting in identifying unhealthy, unsafe situations and ensuring corrective action is taken.
- Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources, Education, or a related field (diploma, certificate, or degree) combined with 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources or learning and development. An equivalent combination of directly related post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge in the areas of adult learning and instructional design theory and application.
- Experience working with eLearning software and Learning Management Systems.
- Experience providing advisory service to the business in learning and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
