About the Job

This is a technical leadership role for a software development team, offering a unique opportunity to drive innovation and excellence in software engineering. As a Senior Engineer II at American Express, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex software systems, driving the delivery of value-added initiatives, and promoting best practices in software development.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Ensuring engineers enforce team standards
  • Ensuring Engineering team delivers a quality product that meets the customers' needs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Proven experience leading teams of engineers
  • Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing
  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required, advanced degree preferred
