About the Role

CMHC is seeking a Financial Modeling Specialist to join the Model Risk Management division. In this role, you will apply your advanced analytical skills to model development, validation, and interpretation, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform validation of financial models, including credit risk, pricing, and actuarial models.
  • Design and implement statistical tests to assess model sensitivity and performance.
  • Assess model soundness and risk in both approach and usage.
  • Monitor model performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Draft comprehensive validation reports and discuss model issues with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in modeling/validation or quantitative analytics in a financial institution.
  • Demonstrated experience with actuarial, statistical, and econometric models.
  • Knowledge of OSFI capital rules and risk management standards.
