The Financial Risk Modeling Department at SGS Societe Generale de Surveillance SA is a global organization with a local presence. Our core mission in the Americas involves delivering sound financial reports, supporting Business Units, Service Units and General Management with financial and strategic steering, effectively scrutinizing business plans, and offering good advice on the efficient use of our capital, liquidity, and funding resources.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Risk Modeling Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing models to manage liquidity risk, stress testing, and balance sheet analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement liquidity modeling projects, including data set analytics and Excel-based solutions.
  • Describe modeling and liquidity risk in documentation (PowerPoint, Word formats).
  • Test and validate models implemented, including unit tests and non-regression tests.
  • Enhance business line analysis of stress testing.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Second Line of Defense (2LOD) / Risk department, various business lines, Operations to ensure completeness and accuracy of the business being modeled.
  • Collaborate with Liquidity Reporting, IT, Data Quality and other functions supporting the implementation of the models.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or Master's Degree in one of the following areas: Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Established knowledge in one or more types of funding or asset product lines (Deposits, Loans, Secured Funding, FCM, Prime Brokerage), or extensive Accounting / Balance Sheet knowledge.
  • Excel Skills: Data management, Pivot Tables.
  • Ability to translate technical modeling and business line analysis into various written formats, succinctly and clearly.
  • Leadership, project management, and effective liaison between business, quantitative research and technology teams.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a hybrid work arrangement that offers employees the flexibility to work remotely, as well as on-site, in order to promote interaction and collaboration with colleagues while adhering to all SG standard protocols.
