About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Risk Model Validation Specialist to join our team in New York. As a key member of our Risk Management Department, you will be responsible for validating and monitoring financial models used by our trading teams.

Job Description

In this role, you will work closely with our model development and validation teams to ensure that our financial models are accurate, robust, and compliant with regulatory requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting independent reviews of financial models used by our trading teams
  • Validating model inputs and outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Working with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new models and improve existing ones

You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating model risks, and for communicating complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in a quantitative field such as Mathematical Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, or STEM
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in model development, validation, or a front-office quant role; fewer years accepted with a PhD
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, C++, or similar, with advanced knowledge of statistics, econometrics, and machine learning
  • Experience working with large datasets and quantitative analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical staff
Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
