Senior Accounting Manager Position Overview

A competitive salary of $120,000 to $180,000 per annum is offered for this Senior Accounting Manager position at CB Canada in a full-time capacity.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in managing daily, month end/quarter end/year end closing procedures across General Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Treasury, and Service Revenue Billing teams.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Management of daily banking and cash flow requirements, ensuring accurate and complete cash requirements and positions.
  • Review of reconciliations prepared by other team members, ensuring completeness and accuracy across the trial balance, and delivery of accurate financial statements.
  • Assistance in the preparation of monthly financial analysis and reports for both Flash and month end/quarter end close (Sage, Oracle, etc.).
  • Overseeing the creation, review, and update of supporting SOX narratives.
  • Management of the SOX testing program, continually improving the internal controls environment, and tracking the monthly/quarterly testing, assisting with, and managing the remediation of any deficiencies.
  • Responding to inquiries from VP Finance, Corporate Controller, and other finance and company-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and inquiries.

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA designation required, and a minimum twelve (12) years directly related experience, having held progressively responsible positions in Finance/Accounting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
  • Working knowledge of Sage, and other ERP software packages.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong leadership experience in building and developing talent to deliver business objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills fostering collaboration with business partners (internal and external).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
