Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at Island Health. The successful candidate will possess a recognized nursing degree and registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational strategies and programs for nurses and allied professionals in mental health services.
  • Teach and mentor nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with current and future mental health clinical and healthcare issues, and integrate this knowledge into education programs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement education initiatives that improve patient outcomes.
  • Utilize adult education principles and learning strategies to create engaging and effective education programs.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in software applications used to develop education curriculum.
