Qualifications and Requirements

**Education and Training**

Graduation from a recognized nursing program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant is also necessary.

**Experience and Skills**

Three to five years of recent related experience, including two years of relevant clinical experience, is required. A valid BC Driver's License is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop educational strategies and programs for nurses and allied professionals in mental health settings.
  • Teach and facilitate learning in a variety of settings.
  • Apply adult education and learning principles to develop effective programs and strategies.
  • Function independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating strong leadership abilities.
  • Communicate effectively through oral and written means.
  • Develop and maintain effective interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Analyze and make informed decisions.
  • Operate related equipment and technology.
  • Understand current and future mental health clinical and healthcare issues and their impact on professional education and clinical practice.
