About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at Miller Paving Limited (HO). As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the business by providing strategic talent acquisition and development expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Workforce Planning and Development
    Partner with division leaders to develop and implement strategic workforce plans that align with business objectives. Translate business needs into short-term, medium-term, and long-term workforce plans, and develop job profiles and recruitment strategies to support these plans.
  2. Talent Attraction and Recruitment
    Evaluate the alignment of recruitment needs with workforce plans and develop competency-based interviewing and scoring frameworks. Schedule and conduct interviews, negotiate and extend offers to top candidates.
  3. Onboarding and Integration
    Develop and implement role-specific onboarding plans for new hires, including salaried and hourly employees in key roles. Design programs to facilitate the integration of new and diverse talent into the organization.
  4. Employee Development and Performance Management
    Analyze talent evaluation and performance review data to identify high potentials and high performers, strengths, development needs, and gaps at the individual and business levels. Support and coach managers through performance management and talent evaluation cycles, and provide guidance on HR systems and processes.
  5. Retention and Engagement
    Participate in employee committees and develop action plans to address feedback and optimize strengths and alleviate deficiencies. Monitor progress and ensure timely closure of action items.
  6. Employee Relations and Investigations
    Support operations by providing best practices and interpretation of policies and contracts. Complete ownership of employee investigations to manage legal liability through due process.
  7. Change Management and Compliance
    Anticipate business challenges and proactively adapt HR delivery to support change. Ensure compliance with company policies, code of ethics, and compensation philosophy, and maintain accuracy and integrity of employee data.
  8. Corporate Governance and Reporting
    Present annual HR dashboards to business leaders, highlighting HR metrics and trends. Monitor compliance with company policies, code of ethics, and compensation philosophy.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration and/or a Human Resources related discipline.
  • HR designation is preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant HR work experience within a Human Resources department, with at least 5 years in an HR Generalist capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with HRIS.
  • Ability to influence, establish rapport, and work with a diverse group of senior management and staff within a variety of businesses.
  • Proven experience working with both structured and unstructured organizations and matrixed environments.
  • High energy, a strong work ethic, resilience, and versatility with a results orientation.
  • Knowledge and experience with Labor relations, employment standards, and human rights legislation.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Valid driver's license and car to support travel requirements.
