We are seeking an exceptional Head of English to join our team of passionate educators at Universal American School in Dubai. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our English department, ensuring that our students receive a world-class education in English language and literature.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the English department, including planning, teaching, and assessing student learning
- Develop and implement curriculum plans that meet the needs of our diverse student body
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless integration of English with other subjects
- Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers to enhance their teaching practice
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, plus a certified teaching qualification such as B.Ed/M.Ed
- At least 5 years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of leading a high-performing English department
- Experience of teaching in a diverse, international school environment
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teachers and students alike
- A passion for delivering outstanding lessons and a commitment to ongoing professional development
