Head of English Department

Universal American School in Dubai is seeking an exceptional Head of English to lead our English department and contribute to the school's mission of fostering a culture of diversity, equality, and inclusion.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and a certified teaching qualification. Experience leading a high-performing English department is advantageous, but we also consider experienced Assistant Heads of Department looking for the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the English department and develop a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the US curriculum via New York State Standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive learning environment that promotes equity and respect for all students.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote academic excellence.
- Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and talented team of English teachers.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in English education and implement innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
