Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educator, Wound, Ostomy to join our team at Providence Health Care. The successful candidate will provide consultative services to healthcare professionals for clients with complex wound/ostomy care needs, assess and develop educational programs, and promote expertise and leadership in nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultative services to healthcare professionals for clients with complex wound/ostomy care needs
  • Assess and develop educational programs within the clinical area
  • Promote expertise and leadership in nursing practice through methods such as reviewing literature, consulting with experts, and evaluating clinical practice
  • Provide direct care to clients with wound/ostomy care needs
  • Perform advanced nursing skills within the area of expertise
  • Review policies, procedures, and reference materials and make recommendations for changes
  • Participate in research activities related to wound/ostomy care and in the development of quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Two (2) years recent, related advanced wound/ostomy/continence care experience
  • Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Institute of Canada (NSWOCC) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Education Program (WOC-EP) or the Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurse Certificate (WOCN)
