Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Care Specialist to join our team at Providence Health Care. The successful candidate will provide consultative services to healthcare professionals, conduct skin/wound/ostomy examinations, and develop educational programs to enhance staff capacity and competence in wound/ostomy/continence care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs within the clinical area
- Conduct skin/wound/ostomy examinations and provide consultative services to healthcare professionals
- Develop and implement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of resources and educational programs
- Provide leadership in nursing practice and promote expertise through methods such as reviewing literature, consulting with experts, and role modeling direct client care skills
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives
- Two years recent, related advanced wound/ostomy/continence care experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Institute of Canada (NSWOCC) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Education Program (WOC-EP) or the Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurse Certificate (WOCN)
