Job Overview

As a Conservation Officer with the National Capital Commission, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulations and laws related to the protection of assets and natural resources. Your duties will include patrolling and monitoring NCC properties, enforcing laws and regulations, and providing public safety services.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field, such as Law Enforcement, Wildlife Protection, or Conservation and Environmental Law Enforcement. You will also need to have one to three years of experience in enforcing laws and regulations, managing and monitoring properties, and providing public safety services.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Enforcing laws and regulations related to the protection of assets and natural resources
  • Managing and monitoring NCC properties, including forests, lands, and natural resources
  • Providing public safety services, including search and rescues, first aid, and forest firefighting operations
  • Participating in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations

Working Conditions

You will be required to work in a variety of environments, including rugged terrain and difficult weather conditions. You will also be required to work evenings, weekends, and shifts outside of regular working hours, as well as during statutory holidays.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess a valid driver's license, a good driver's abstract, and a valid certificate for First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. You will also need to be eligible to obtain Secret security clearance and possess a valid certificate for the Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) or a similar evaluation.

Language Requirements

The official language of this job is English, and you will be required to have a strong command of the language. You will also be required to have a good understanding of the NCC regulations and laws related to the protection of assets and natural resources.
