Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager Retail Leasing and Development to lead and oversee all business development leasing functions for Lindt retail locations across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Selection and Store Development: Manage site selection, construction of new stores, remodels, special projects, and initiatives in stores.
  • Retail Growth Strategies: Contribute to retail growth strategies and play a vital role in enhancing the overall customer experience, ensuring our stores are optimized to meet the evolving demands of the retail market.
  • Strategic Planning: Support and contribute to retail growth strategic planning to meet business objectives.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Lead the semi-annual store portfolio strategic review process with senior leadership, cross-functional partners, and external consultants.
  • Real Estate and Leasing: Partner closely with Finance and Operations partners to establish Investment Requests related to Store Development, prepare and present executive presentations of all Real Estate Proposals, and coordinate documentation for Legal counsel on lease agreements.
  • Store Environment and Design: Collaborate with external and cross-functional teams to create inviting and functional store environments.
  • Real Estate Initiatives: Internally manage all real estate initiatives, including leasing processes, and maintain a pipeline of future business development.
  • Lease Negotiation and Management: Evaluate and improve lease language consistently when negotiating proposals, maintain a database of existing stores and lease renewal data, and act as the liaison with mall leasing executives and mall management.
  • Partnerships and Networking: Build partnerships with shopping center developers throughout Canada to obtain relevant and timely information about their locations and share relevant information about Lindt Canada.
  • Travel and Project Management: Travel to markets as needed to support strategic planning, and ensure initiatives are executed as intended while on time and on budget.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in retail site selection with in-depth market and industry knowledge.
  • Education: Post-secondary education, or equivalent experience in senior-level Retail Operations.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and networking skills, and an ability to work cross-functionally. Excellent strategic leadership and project management abilities.
  • Knowledge: Experience with all shopping center types, a thorough understanding of architectural, construction, and commercial real estate processes.
  • Software: Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
