Position Overview

We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in Thermal Performance and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate vendor documentation, designs, and reports with a focus on fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and thermal-hydraulics.
  2. Compile and present findings from thermal performance assessments and analyses in various formats including presentations and reports.
  3. Conduct necessary simulations and field investigations to support thermal performance evaluations and provide expert advice to clients.
  4. Deliver engineering design, assessment, and technical consultation services to address complex problems and projects, ensuring thorough analysis and recommendations.
  5. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and industry contacts to facilitate effective problem-solving.
  6. Lead and participate in meetings to identify and resolve conflicts or issues, fostering collaborative solutions.
  7. Prepare proposals and recommendations for client review, keeping management informed of significant developments.
  8. Oversee projects and studies, directing the work of junior staff and technicians, while ensuring alignment with project goals and resource management.
  9. Generate reports and documentation to communicate results of studies and field tests effectively.
  10. Assess and engage external firms for services and products, adhering to corporate policies.
  11. Represent the organization as a technical expert in interactions with regulatory bodies and authorities, under supervision.
  12. Contribute to internal and external committees to support ongoing studies and work programs.
  13. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and corporate policies in all work activities.
  14. Participate in the development and management of departmental safety initiatives.
  15. Provide insights for budget planning and financial evaluations as needed.
  16. Stay updated on advancements in the field through continuous learning and engagement with relevant organizations.

Qualifications

  • Accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with 6-8 years of practical experience in CFD.
  • Proficient in the theoretical and practical aspects of computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, particularly within the power industry.
  • Familiarity with commercial CFD software, especially FLUENT/CFX, is advantageous.
