We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Cafeteria Supervisor to join our team at SNB Ferry Cafe. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cafeteria, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of staff to achieve our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Service Management
    • Develop and implement effective food service strategies to meet the needs of our customers.
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and motivate a team of staff to achieve our goals and objectives.
    • Provide guidance and support to staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that customers receive a high-quality dining experience.
    • Respond to customer complaints and feedback, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Participate in initiatives that support the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees.
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and storage.
    • Support social and labor market integration, facilitating access to community resources and training.
  • Support for Youth
    • Participate in initiatives that support youth employment and development.
    • Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to youth employees.
    • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Participate in initiatives that support Indigenous people and reconciliation.
    • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to employees.
    • Facilitate access to Elders and support services for Indigenous employees.
    Requirements
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service or supervisory role.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
