Cafeteria Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cafeteria Supervisor to join our team at SNB Ferry Cafe. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cafeteria, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation and Service: Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that meals are prepared to a high standard and served in a timely manner.
  • Staff Management: Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and implement methods to meet work schedules.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, and assist with immediate settlement needs.
  • Support for Youth and Indigenous People: Participate in programs or initiatives that support youth employment and Indigenous people, and provide cultural competency training to employees.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Permanent position.
  • 30 to 36 hours per week.
  • English language required.
