Job Summary

The Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of automation solutions to improve plant efficiency and productivity. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain automation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automation solutions to improve plant efficiency and productivity
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain automation systems
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to identify and implement process improvements
  • Provide technical guidance and training to machine operators, maintenance personnel, and engineering staff
  • Investigate and resolve automation-related issues and failures
  • Implement and integrate PLC, PMC, and robot programs with other systems
  • Track and analyze data to optimize automation system performance
  • Determine equipment requirements and select appropriate electrical codes
  • Establish standards for programming, components, and systems related to automation

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in PLC and robotic system design, repair, and programming
  • Minimum 5 years of experience integrating new automation systems
  • Familiarity with IT systems
  • Trade license in Industrial Electrical Maintenance (442A) or Engineering License
  • Understanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking, Ethernet connections, and TCP/IP protocol
  • Experience with computer-assisted design
