Senior Automation Engineer
The Senior Automation Engineer role is crucial for enhancing plant operations through the optimization of automation processes, realignment of production flow systems, and collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance teams. This position also entails providing expert technical support and facilitating the training of Machine Operators, Maintenance staff, and Engineering personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct in-depth research on the feasibility, design, and performance of mechanical systems and components. Oversee project planning and management, including the preparation of material, cost, and timing estimates, along with design specifications for machinery and systems. Analyze and troubleshoot PLC, PMC, and robotic programming. Supervise the installation, modification, and commissioning of automation systems within the facility. Investigate automation-related failures and unexpected maintenance challenges. Design and integrate PLC, PMC/CNC, and robotic programs using software such as Ultraware, Panel Builder, Fanuc Ladder, RoboGuide, RobotStudio, and Profinet. Monitor performance data of automation systems and address any arising issues. Determine suitable equipment for projects and ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes. Establish programming standards and guidelines for automation components and systems, facilitating the introduction of new technologies through structured approval processes.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering. At least 7 years of experience in PLC and robotic system design, repair, and programming, with a minimum of 5 years in integrating new automation systems. Familiarity with IT systems is essential. A trade license in Industrial Electrical Maintenance (442A) is a plus. An Engineering License would be advantageous. Proficient understanding of electrical/electronic schematics, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems. Basic knowledge of computer networking, including Ethernet connections and TCP/IP protocols. Experience with computer-aided design tools.Desired Skills
