Position Overview - Full Stack Developer

Terra Insights Ltd. stands at the forefront of geotechnical and geospatial monitoring technologies. We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to create high-performance applications focused on data visualization.

Role Specifications

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement based in our Vancouver office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop GIS and data visualization applications that significantly impact safety, enhance productivity for various businesses, and contribute positively to environmental sustainability.
  • Ensure responsive and visually engaging designs that provide an excellent user experience across multiple devices and browsers.
  • Quickly develop new web applications free from legacy constraints.
  • Produce clean, well-documented, and modular code while adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues, conduct code reviews, and engage in technical discussions.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant positions, including:
  • Web development with a strong emphasis on modern frameworks and libraries.
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux) and frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack).
  • Proficient in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, Websockets, and OAuth protocols.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience with popular web-based GIS frameworks such as ArcGIS, Leaflet, or OpenLayers is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of real-time applications (SignalR, Socket.IO).
  • Familiarity with spatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles) and techniques for geospatial data visualization.
  • Experience in data plotting and engineering applications.
  • Proficiency in C# and .NET development is advantageous but not mandatory.

Location and Benefits

This hybrid role is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We offer competitive compensation that reflects experience and a comprehensive benefits package.

Compensation Overview

  • Full-time position
  • Annual salary range: 97,000 - 130,000 CAD
