Position Overview - Full Stack Developer

Role Overview

This position offers a hybrid work model based in Vancouver, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop GIS and data visualization applications that significantly influence safety, enhance productivity for various businesses, and positively impact the environment.
  • Create responsive and visually engaging designs, ensuring an optimal user experience across diverse devices and web browsers.
  • Quickly build new web applications free from legacy constraints.
  • Produce well-documented, clean, and modular code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues, conduct code reviews, and engage actively in technical discussions.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant positions, including:
  • Web development with a strong emphasis on modern frameworks and libraries.
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux) and frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack).
  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, Websockets, and OAuth protocols.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience will be taken into account.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience with popular web-based GIS frameworks such as ArcGIS, Leaflet, or OpenLayers is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of real-time applications (SignalR, Socket.IO).
  • Familiarity with spatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles) and techniques for geospatial data visualization.
  • Experience in data plotting and engineering applications.
  • Knowledge of C# and .NET development is advantageous but not mandatory.

Location and Benefits

This hybrid role is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We provide competitive compensation aligned with experience and a comprehensive benefits package.

Compensation Details

  • Full-time position
  • Annual salary range: 97,000 - 130,000 CAD
