Fundraising Development Specialist

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Fundraising Development Specialist provides essential administrative and strategic assistance to TechBridge's fundraising and development team. Key responsibilities encompass research, data analysis, and administrative support aimed at helping the team meet its annual and quarterly revenue targets and strategic objectives. This role includes managing sponsorship relations, communications, sponsor database oversight, and grants administration for the Fundraising & Development team. The focus is on sustaining and enhancing existing revenue streams and nurturing relationships.

This position requires handling confidential information and, at times, engaging with executives and high-net-worth individuals. A high degree of discretion and professionalism is necessary. The Fundraising Development Specialist must possess the interpersonal skills needed to effectively engage, collaborate, and communicate with donors, sponsors, and colleagues across all organizational levels and external partners while maintaining composure, diplomacy, and tact.

Equally important are skills in data management, technology, marketing, and communication. As a technology-driven nonprofit, TechBridge utilizes digital transformations to combat poverty. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of data management and analytics, alongside the ability to quickly leverage technology for enhanced efficiency. Candidates should excel in managing administrative tasks, coordinating projects, and ensuring effective communication channels. Familiarity with tools such as Trello, AI, and possibly Salesforce is highly valued.

Development Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of development work in partnership with the Director of Fundraising and Development, including establishing clear goals, tracking progress, and reporting to achieve fundraising objectives.
  • Manage processes for donor acknowledgment and recognition, including drafting, sending, and tracking acknowledgment letters to donors and foundations.
  • Collaborate on the creation of digital and print materials, including sponsor prospectuses, impact reports, and post-campaign case studies, ensuring consistent branding and messaging to foster sponsor engagement.
  • Assist in developing communication strategies and materials for strategic content, including videos, testimonials, cases for support, campaigns, newsletters, etc.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all funding sources, including grantees, foundations, and organizations.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date contact information and records for all funding sources, including Legacy Donors and Executive Ambassadors.
  • Utilize necessary systems to support a robust development program, including Salesforce, SharePoint, and project management tools (e.g., Trello).
  • Identify and coordinate recognition opportunities for existing and potential donors, sponsors, and corporations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Executive Ambassador Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all aspects of Executive Ambassador engagement with the CEO and the Director of Fundraising and Development, including setting clear goals, tracking progress, and reporting.
  • Facilitate recognition opportunities for existing and potential Executive Ambassadors, including meeting itineraries and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate on the production of digital and print publications, including email content, social media posts, impact reports, and post-campaign case studies, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
  • Ensure all contact information and records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Auction Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all areas of auction development in collaboration with the Director of Fundraising and Development, including establishing clear goals, tracking progress, and reporting to meet event fundraising targets.
  • Support live and silent auction efforts, including item procurement, invoicing, and delivery.
  • Utilize necessary systems to support effective auction and raffle initiatives, including platforms like Classy, Classy Live, and Give Smart.
  • Lead day-of auction and raffle logistics, including setup and breakdown of items displayed at events with volunteer assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in an office environment, particularly in sales, business development, marketing, fundraising, or corporate relations.
  • Advanced interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize internal and external tools for prospect research.
  • Experience in writing grants and formal proposals.
  • Exceptional organizational skills suitable for a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization abilities.
  • Capability to deliver work products punctually.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Ability to navigate various platforms and systems, demonstrating tech-savviness to learn new tools quickly.
  • Proficient in leveraging social media for fundraising efforts.
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret data accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, even under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues, demonstrating sound judgment and professional expertise to support the fundraising and development team.
  • Professional, diplomatic, and discreet when handling confidential matters.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Negotiation skills.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Master's Degree or 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Creative writing skills.

This is a part-time role that has the potential to transition into a full-time position.
