Position: Development Associate/Coordinator

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Development Associate plays a crucial role in providing both administrative and strategic assistance to TechBridge's fundraising and development team. Key responsibilities encompass research, data analysis, prospecting, and administrative tasks aimed at helping the team meet its annual and quarterly revenue targets as well as strategic objectives.

This role includes managing sponsorship relations, overseeing communications, maintaining sponsor databases, and handling grants management for the Fundraising & Development team. The focus is on nurturing and expanding existing revenue streams while fostering strong relationships.

Handling confidential information is a significant aspect of this position, which may involve interactions with executives and high-net-worth individuals. Therefore, a high degree of discretion and professionalism is essential. The Development Associate must possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage, collaborate, and communicate with donors, sponsors, colleagues, and external partners while maintaining composure and tact.

In addition to interpersonal skills, proficiency in data management, technology, marketing, and communication is equally important. As a technology nonprofit dedicated to leveraging digital transformations to combat poverty, TechBridge seeks a candidate with a solid understanding of data analytics and the ability to utilize technology efficiently. The ideal candidate will excel in managing administrative responsibilities, coordinating projects, and ensuring effective communication. Familiarity with tools such as Trello, AI applications, and possibly Salesforce is advantageous.

Development Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all aspects of development initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Fundraising and Development, including setting clear goals, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes to achieve fundraising objectives.
  • Manage processes for donor acknowledgment and recognition, including writing, sending, and tracking acknowledgment letters to donors and foundations.
  • Assist in the creation of digital and print materials, such as sponsor prospectuses, impact reports, and post-campaign case studies, ensuring consistent branding and messaging to enhance sponsor engagement.
  • Collaborate on communication strategies and collateral for various content types, including videos, testimonials, and newsletters.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all funding sources, including grantees and foundations.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of contact information and company details.
  • Utilize necessary systems to support a robust development program, including Salesforce and project management platforms like Trello.
  • Identify and coordinate recognition opportunities for current and prospective donors and sponsors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Executive Ambassador Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all areas of Executive Ambassador engagement with the CEO and the Director of Fundraising and Development, including setting clear goals and tracking progress.
  • Facilitate recognition opportunities for existing and potential Executive Ambassadors, including meeting itineraries and follow-ups.
  • Assist in producing digital and print materials for Executive Ambassador engagement, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
  • Maintain accurate records of contact information and company details.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Auction Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of auction development in collaboration with the Director of Fundraising and Development, including setting clear goals and tracking progress to meet event fundraising targets.
  • Support live and silent auction activities, including item procurement and invoicing.
  • Utilize necessary systems to enhance auction and raffle efforts, including platforms like Classy and Give Smart.
  • Lead day-of auction activities, including setup and breakdown of items with volunteer assistance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in an office environment, focusing on sales, business development, marketing, fundraising, or corporate relations.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize tools for conducting prospect research.
  • Experience in writing grants or formal proposals.
  • Exceptional organizational skills suitable for a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent time-management and prioritization abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Ability to navigate various platforms and learn new systems quickly.
  • Proficient in using social media for fundraising purposes.
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret data accurately.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong attention to detail, even under tight deadlines.
  • Sound judgment and professional expertise in problem-solving.
  • Professional demeanor, with discretion in handling confidential matters.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Negotiation skills.
  • Experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Master's Degree or 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Creative writing skills.

This is a part-time role that has the potential to transition into a full-time position.
