Blue Water Cafe is a high-volume fine dining restaurant, serving around 320 guests nightly. We are a team of passionate individuals dedicated to delivering exceptional food experiences.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day kitchen operations, educate the pastry team, and maintain exceptional cleanliness and equipment standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including pastry preparation and presentation.
  • Serve as an educator to the restaurant's pastry team, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and equipment standards, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Design and create creative and elevated pastries, desserts, and breads, using classic baking techniques and procedures.
  • Lead by example, inspiring staff to deliver a memorable food experience.
  • Maximize resources and inventories by managing cost and monitoring inventory and budget.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • A degree in the Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • An energetic and motivated team player, highly committed to a premium level of quality.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
