About the Role

The Sovereign General Insurance Company is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Commercial Insurance Leader to join our dynamic senior leadership team. As a visionary leader, you will inspire and lead teams in the Canadian Western Regions to drive success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business plans and related budgets to achieve financial and business goals.
  • Lead and deliver broker-focused products and services, including direct training of regional staff to ensure a full understanding of company products and services.
  • Manage broker relationships to achieve volume objectives while maintaining a profitable book of business.
  • Build positive relationships within the insurance industry to promote Sovereign Insurance with brokers and industry groups.
  • Understand regulatory risk and influence and maintain compliant business processes and controls.
  • Lead and engage your team to deliver strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive insurance industry experience, including in-depth experience in the Commercial Mid-Market space.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • CIP designation is an asset.
  • Proven track record as a successful commercial insurance leader with expertise in Manufacturing, Construction, Transportation, and Energy segment commercial lines within the broker distribution channel.
  • Experience leading a team(s) to build a strong broker distribution portfolio.
  • Ability to build strategic plans and lead teams to solve complex problems and achieve delivery targets in an engaged, collaborative environment.
