Job Title: Customer Service/Sales Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service/Sales Lead. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and maintaining a clean and organized sales area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sales support to walk-in customers, answering questions and providing recommendations on our product assortment.
  • Assist customers with purchasing material at the Profit Centre counters, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
  • Research and provide solutions to customer inquiries, driving sales growth through effective product promotion and merchandising.
  • Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain and clean the counter area, including merchandising displays, to ensure a professional and welcoming environment.
  • Inform the buyer when stock levels are low, ensuring timely restocking and minimizing stockouts.
  • Follow up on backorders with vendors, providing customers with accurate delivery dates and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Process returns and warranty claims, ensuring compliance with all procedures and providing excellent customer service.
  • Navigate and resolve customer concerns and complaints, providing a positive experience and building strong relationships.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales.
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates.
  • Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre.
  • Ability to use the Internet as a resource to problem solve and find alternative solutions for customers.
