We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for researching and developing accounting policies and procedures, as well as implementing new accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities- Accounting Policy Development: Research and develop accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implementation of New Accounting Standards: Implement new accounting standards and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are aware of the changes and their impact on the business.
- Analysis and Advice: Analyze complex accounting issues and provide advice and counsel to senior management on specialized transactions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with other departments to establish their roles and responsibilities in implementing new accounting standards.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to users on new accounting policies and procedures.
- Staying Up-to-Date: Stay up-to-date with changes to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex accounting issues and provide advice and counsel to senior management.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Canadian CPA Designation: Must have a Canadian CPA designation.
- Microsoft Office Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
