Job Description

AltaGas - Project Controls Planning & Scheduling Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for providing project schedule support on various projects by creating integrated schedules, monitoring performance against plans, and identifying/communicating areas of concern.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the project team to develop, update, and control project plans, schedules, milestones, and reporting in conformance with project requirements, and establish baseline documents to provide ongoing monitoring.
  • Prepare Level 1 to Level 3 schedules in a sustaining capital project environment with particular emphasis on a critical path leading from engineering to procurement to construction.
  • Lead and participate in interactive planning sessions, and hold meetings with project managers, estimators, and engineers to review and adjust preliminary schedules for initial distribution.
  • Create and compile schedules for the midstream capital program adhering to the PDM stage gates.
  • Create and maintain integrated schedules for all labor, materials, equipment, and services starting from project development through to project closure.
  • Lead on project controls support, including project planning, schedule management, evaluating project trends and schedule forecasts.
  • Support project managers in generating weekly and monthly schedule updates.
  • Work with external vendors on getting timely and accurate construction reporting.
  • Establish a productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed in concurrence with Construction.
  • Coach and mentor other planners and schedulers on the team.

Requirements:

  • 7+ Years of project and/or program planning & scheduling for projects or corporate budgets.
  • Experience with planning & scheduling for a midstream company and projects.
  • Knowledge of resourcing and/or project management services and processes.
  • Knowledge of EPCM planning and project reporting.
  • Knowledge of procurement, contracts, and construction management.
  • Experience with scheduling software, including Microsoft Projects and Primavera.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel to project locations within Canada.
