About the Role

Sonder is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our collaborative workplace. As a member of our Legal Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day legal operations of the organization, including contract management, compliance, and legal vendor management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team, including managing distribution lists, intranet sites, and shared sites.
  • Assist with the day-to-day legal operations of the organization, including contract management, compliance, and legal vendor management.
  • Assist in developing and managing the legal department budget, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing the legal department metrics and data to identify trends, assess performance, and inform decision-making.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs for legal department staff and other employees on legal processes, technology tools, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with special projects and team/departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/requested.
Contract Administration
  • Partner and work closely with the Procurement team to ensure seamless contract management.
  • Triage, review, and negotiate various contracts, including MSAs and NDAs.
  • Maintain and update templates aligning with overall corporate policies.
  • Review customer insurance requirements against corporate insurance policies.
  • Maintain records, diarizing, and filing systems for future reference on existing and new contracts.
  • Manage, organize, and help to create and/or improve efficient contracting processes.
Real Estate Support
  • Provide general assistance in real estate and leasing transactions.
  • Review, draft, and compile transaction documents to facilitate real estate transactions.
  • Analyze and summarize documents, zoning ordinances, and statutes for review by attorneys.
  • Work closely with attorneys and interface with other internal and external stakeholders to resolve a variety of day-to-day issues and support a broad range of commercial transactions and projects.
  • Collect, track, and perform legal due diligence.
  • Maintain document databases and collaborate to develop and maintain processes and procedures to ensure efficiency of legal team engagement.
  • Multitask and prioritize work assignments to consistently provide high-quality work product within deadlines.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal working in-house.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to clearly explain legal terms to cross-functional teams within the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a large number of tasks.
  • Able to adapt to changing and fast-paced conditions to ensure continued alignment with business requirements.
  • Willingness to take on challenges and new objectives.
  • Ability to identify issues and determine when escalation is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of legal professionals.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Tech savvy and striving for constant improvement and innovation.
  • Computer skills, including experience with Mac, Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Salesforce, Coupa, and NetSuite or an openness to learning new programs.
  • Ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
