Location:

Resolute Forest Products Inc. is a prominent player in the production of quality market pulp, tissue, wood products, and papers, with operations spanning across the United States and Canada.

We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Senior Manager, IT Project Management.

This is a full-time permanent position.

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager, IT Project Management will oversee the successful execution of multiple concurrent IT projects, particularly focusing on Special Projects such as Merger and Acquisition (M&A) initiatives.

This role involves coordinating various IT functions within the broader project scope and collaborating closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery through a structured project management approach.

Additionally, the individual will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team of Project Managers, offering mentorship and professional development opportunities to cultivate a skilled workforce.


Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Coordination:
  • Facilitate the activities of diverse project teams working towards unified objectives.
  • Assist Project Managers in the planning and structuring of projects, providing consultation on project management tools.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, monitor interdependencies, and present program status updates.

Establish and enforce project execution plans.


  • Supervise project delivery, managing complex IT projects and multiple concurrent initiatives using standardized project management methodologies.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to quality standards, timelines, and budgets while proactively addressing risks and challenges.
Financial Oversight and Resource Management:
  • Manage budgets for various IT Special and M&A projects, ensuring each project remains within its financial parameters.
  • Conduct resource capacity analysis to optimize the application of project resources.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate project success, preparing regular reports and insights for leadership.


Process Enhancement:
  • Collaborate with Project Governance to refine project management methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency within the PMO.

Change Management:
  • Support organizational change management (OCM) by identifying and communicating business process changes and their impacts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • PMP certification and/or relevant training.
  • 15 years of hands-on experience across various IT domains, with a strong grasp of infrastructure, applications, security, and other critical components.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Project Management, encompassing end-to-end management of medium to large projects and programs, with progressive leadership roles.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
