The successful candidate will be a key member of the Financial Affairs Business Office, providing exceptional service to a diverse range of stakeholders.


Position Summary

This role involves utilizing specialized knowledge of financial policies and procedures to coordinate and execute financial transactions within the University. The incumbent will analyze, record, classify, and summarize accounting data in accordance with established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to existing guidelines.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of financial data.
  • Interpret and communicate relevant financial policies and procedures to various stakeholders.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions to enhance understanding of financial processes.
  • Analyze financial data for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring proper implementation and maintenance throughout the fiscal year.
  • Create financial forecasts and adjust budgets as necessary.
  • Implement appropriate controls, monitor, and reconcile financial accounts.
  • Draft a variety of documents and reports, including procedure manuals and financial statements.
  • Conduct analyses and reconciliations of financial accounts.
  • Generate reports and account statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on accounting procedures and financial systems.
  • Calculate, prepare, and issue invoices, checks, and other financial documents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Process and verify various financial documents, including purchase orders and invoices.
  • Monitor and reconcile financial records, investigating discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and generate scheduled and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Maintain and verify information in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Manage cash receipts, including petty cash and checks.
  • Apply mathematical skills to perform various calculations.
  • Create complex spreadsheets with formulas and equations.
  • Respond to inquiries that require specialized knowledge of financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for both electronic and hard copy documents.

Supervision

This position includes lead hand supervision responsibilities, ensuring the quality and quantity of work produced by team members.
