Job Overview:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Coordinator is accountable for the organization, integration, and formulation of financial data and associated evaluations to predict financial outcomes and establish program budgets that optimize financial resources. This role includes providing mentorship and direction to team members regarding departmental financial operations and protocols, along with overseeing the work of other personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate financial data to support the creation and execution of both short-term and long-term financial strategies. Formulate multi-year financial plans for assessment and endorsement. Anticipate revenue streams and compile detailed calculations of expected compensation expenses and other costs. Prepare budget modification requests following the ratification of the initial budget. Generate working documents and compile data in compliance with financial audit standards. Estimate time, resources, and budgets for various program initiatives and events. Organize and coordinate timelines and budgetary processes for budget evaluations with different departments. Engage with departments to assess resource strategies in order to develop financial forecasts. Coordinate and arrange the flow of data and financial information necessary for the preparation and formulation of comprehensive financial statements. Examine, assess, and reconcile detailed financial reports and records. Monitor and investigate discrepancies and exception reports. Review business operations to ensure efficiency and proper controls for accurate financial reporting and asset protection. Recommend improvements to enhance processes. Serve as a resource for staff, departments, and external entities, addressing inquiries and concerns related to financial matters. Provide guidance on restructuring accounts for effective management oversight and streamlined reporting. Oversee the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of financial information. Interpret and communicate relevant financial policies, procedures, and guidelines to others. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing audit documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Develop and conduct training and informational sessions. Analyze data for reasonableness and accuracy. Formulate budgets for review and endorsement. Implement and manage budgets, creating financial forecasts and adjusting budgets throughout the fiscal period. Exercise appropriate controls, monitor, and reconcile financial accounts. Draft various documents and reports, including procedure manuals, accounting reports, and financial statements. Conduct analyses and reconciliations of accounts. Generate reports and account statements, ensuring accuracy. Provide training and guidance to others on relevant accounting practices and the utilization of financial systems. Calculate, prepare, and issue invoices, checks, account statements, and other financial documents according to established protocols. Process, verify, and balance financial records and transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Investigate discrepancies using established methods. Monitor and reconcile statements and participate in account reconciliations. Prepare and generate a variety of scheduled and ad hoc reports. Update, maintain, and verify information in various spreadsheets and databases. Balance and control cash receipts, including floats, petty cash, and checks. Apply standard mathematical skills for various calculations. Create spreadsheets with complex formulas and calculations. Address complex inquiries via telephone, email, and in person that require specialized knowledge of policies and procedures. Maintain filing systems, both electronic and paper-based.

Supervision:

Provide lead supervision and is accountable for the quality and quantity of work produced by others.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
