Position: Financial Operations Supervisor
Location: Stoney Creek, ON
The Financial Operations Supervisor will play a pivotal role in assisting the Regional Controller with implementing the financial and accounting strategy in alignment with Corporate Policy. This role will provide essential support to the Southwest Ontario (SWO) Region, encompassing joint ventures as well as National Service functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute general ledger journal entries , including month-end and year-end processes.
• Verify the accuracy of coding on invoices and expense reports.
• Generate financial reports for Operations.
• Compile weekly reports for the Service Division Manager, including Safety & Training Statistics.
• Assist in updating annual and quarterly budget and forecast templates.
• Manage tax and government remittances.
• Supervise monthly account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Aid in general ledger accountability, overhead and recoveries monitoring, expense review, cost control, month-end procedures, and audit readiness, including WSIB remittances & audits.
• Support the Regional Controller with fleet management and accounts receivable tasks.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis (i.e., actual vs. budget).
• Collaborate with administrators & coordinators to ensure work orders and purchase orders are processed in accordance with company policies.
• Review hourly payroll processed by the Payroll Administrator.
• Manage Salary Payroll for the Region , including T4 and T2200 Distribution.
• Oversee banking activities, including processing EFTs and banking files.
• Assist the Controller and Division Managers with various requests.
• Mentor and support Administrators.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Joint Venture Duties:
• Oversee month-end accounting procedures, including the preparation of preliminary financial statements for Regional Controller review.
• Manage all financial aspects of Joint Ventures, including billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable tasks.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis (i.e., actual vs. budget).
• Prepare and maintain reconciliation files and working papers to support the annual review engagement by external auditors and US Partners.
National Service Operations:
• Produce National Service & National Account reports on a monthly and quarterly basis as required.
• Assist in standardizing month-end Service and Best Practice (BPS) procedures.
• Collaborate with the National Service Controller to develop National Administrative Training.

• Completion of a relevant degree program (Accounting, Finance) from a recognized institution and progress towards an accounting designation.
• Preference will be given to candidates with an Accounting Designation.
• 3-5 years of experience in a comparable role .
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of full-cycle accounting.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient technical skills in Excel and Word.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards experience is a plus).
• Experience in the construction sector is advantageous.
