Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing cash assets, and ensuring the security and integrity of the count room operation. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Cage Manager or Supervisor and will be responsible for counting and movement of cash assets from the gaming floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Cash Handling: Count and manage cash assets, including foreign currency exchange, cheques, short pays, over payments, cash counts, coins, and bills.
  • Discrepancy Reporting: Monitor and report any discrepancies or suspicious cash activities to the Cage Manager or Supervisor.
  • Financial Asset Management: Manage, control, transfer, and balance financial assets, including machine fills, machine jackpots, cancelled credits, table fills, and credits.
  • Float Management: Issue opening floats to various departments, reconcile closing floats, and transfer and store floats, keys, and record-keeping documents.
  • Transaction Reconciliation: Document and reconcile transactional counts for reporting purposes and reconcile bank deposits and prepare revenue reports.
  • Guest Relations: Effectively resolve all guest complaints and comments regarding transactions/exchanges, building strong working relationships with guests and team members.
  • Counting and Securing: Count bills, coins, and cash equivalents, collect cash boxes from slot machines and table games, and organize and secure the storage of count carts, drop boxes, drop buckets, and bill cartridges for count pulls.
  • Financial Asset Transportation: Bag, bundle, secure, and transport financial assets.
  • Safety and Security: Perform duties in a safe manner, report any potential safety hazards to management staff, and comply with GCGC Service Operating Procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the count room operation.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments, build strong working relationships with internal and external guests, and ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma; post-secondary education an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service and handling cash (preferably large volumes).
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of cash, foreign currency, and other settlement types, working knowledge of computer software, and ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Mathematical Aptitude: Strong mathematical aptitude, ability to work within a confined space, and have good hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding area and be familiar with a high-volume, fast-paced, shift work environment.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication, multi-tasking, organizational, teamwork, and analytical skills, ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.
  • Gaming License: Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.
