Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at RhynoCare, providing high-quality nursing care to our residents in Peterborough.

Job Summary:

As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering excellent nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care. You will work collaboratively with our team to ensure the delivery of timely and accessible admissions, comprehensive orientations, and safe resident transfers and discharges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
  • Ensure the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes.
  • Medical Clearance, including TB tests.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  • Clear Criminal Record check.
