Job Summary:

The City of Red Deer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dryland Program Leader to lead preschool programs, services, and special events. This is a key role in our organization, and we are looking for a candidate who can provide exceptional leadership and support to our childcare centre, licensed preschool programming, and preschool day camp areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead preschool programs and services, ensuring high-quality care and education for children.
  • Supervise and support childcare staff, providing guidance and coaching to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that meet the needs of children and families, aligning with the City's Cornerstone Values.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
  • Manage budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of City funds.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying knowledge to improve services and programs.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Exceptional leadership and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License.
  • Commitment to the City's Cornerstone Values.
  • Ability to work in noisy conditions and deal with conflict situations.
  • Level I Childcare Certificate.
  • Childcare First Aid Certificate.

Working Conditions:

This is a 40-hour biweekly position, with availability required for weekdays, evenings, weekends, early mornings, and potential split shifts as dryland programming and business needs require.

The City of Red Deer offers a competitive salary range of $23.87 to $25.27 per hour, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
