The Opportunity:

The City of Red Deer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our dryland preschool programs and services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote early childhood education and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preschool programs and services that meet the needs of our community.
  • Lead a team of early childhood educators and support staff to deliver high-quality programs and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment with City of Red Deer's goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta Driver's License.
  • Commitment to the City's Cornerstone Values.
  • Ability to do minor lifting.
  • Ability to work in noisy conditions.
  • Ability to work in stressful conditions and deal with conflict situations.
  • Level I Childcare Certificate
  • Childcare First Aid Certificate

Affiliation:

Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 417

Remuneration:

$23.87 to $25.27 per hour.

Hours of Work:

40 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Availability required for weekdays, evenings, weekends, early mornings and potential split shifts as dryland programming and business needs require.

Additional Information:

This is a 14-month term position.
